i'm getting an iBook soon and i have photoshop...will the same program work on the mac as it did on my pc? do i have to buy a different version?

You will need to purchase an upgrade as Adobe products do not come with both a Mac and a PC version. Adobe will allow you to upgrade a PC version of Photoshop to a Mac version, but of course that version will not run on a PC.
The cost to do a cross-upgrade should be the same as upgrading on the same platform.
