In Photoshop, what filter do I use to take an image and make it almost transparent for use in a back

I am going to use it as the background for a power point presentation, so I'd like it to become almost transparent. I have Adobe Photoshop CS2.

It isn't a filter, it's the opacity of the layer.

Double click the background layer then click ok.

Change the transparency to 25%

Image -%26gt; Adjustments -%26gt; Index Color (since jpeg won't support transparency) -%26gt; Ok

File -%26gt; Save As -%26gt; Save the file as a GIF (compuserve gif)

i dont know of a filter, but you can change the opacity of the layer...

make a new layer

fill with white

place the image layer above the white layer

adjust the opacity sliders until satisfied

flatten image and save
I have photoshop CS, so this may be different depending on which photoshop you have.

Go to your Layers pallet (window - layers) You'll see at the top right hand corner ''opacity'' with a box that says 100% next to it. You can type in a new percentage, or click and hold down your mouse over the percentage to get a scrolling tool.
Everyone has their own preference as to go about this. I'll give you the way I do it.
