Need Photoshop, but can't afford it, how can a Teen (ME) manage to get a copy (Legally!)?

I have been using The GIMP for over 2 years now, it's very nice and all but it lacks a lot of the ability to create a lot of more modern crisp graphics.

I like GIMP a ton so don't get me wrong, it's very good but not for someone who is trying to do web design.

I have seen loads of kids online with pirated copy's and it drives me mad! these snots get photoshop for free while us kids with morals have to suffer while Corporations like Adobe stick of for everything we have!

I know there are discounts for Education versions but as I said above, I need it for web design and the usage terms of the Education version Clearly state that you can not use it for profit.

The non for profit usage of Photoshop means that you cant use the edu version if your in business but you can use it if your designing a web site for free while at school. If your in business you should be paying for the software you use.

There are cheaper alternatives. Photoshop Elements is one if you want to be in the Adobe family of programs. You can pick up an earlier version on eBay for well under the current list price for Elements 6 at $100. If it is truely graphics that you are into and not so much photographs, you might try Xara Xtreme, http://www.xara.com It is about $80 and is a vector program similar to Illustrator. Both Elements and Xara Xtreme have free trial downloads. XX is for only 15 days but it the full program. Elements also is a full feature trial but for 30 days.
Adobe Photoshop is not free, however, you can download a fully-functional 30-day tryout version of Photoshop from Adobe.com. If you wish to continue using the software after the free trial period, you will need to purchase it. If the cost of Photoshop is too much for you, consider Photoshop Elements instead. Photoshop Elements offers about 99% of the functionality of Photoshop at about a sixth of the price. A free 30-day trial version of Photoshop Elements is also available for download from Adobe.
